most likely going to actually start this weekend. so to start the thread off i am posting up some parts i have aquired. i will post pics off my other parts and some in the process snap shots while i progress.

usrt linkage, usrt catch can, manual rack bushings

42lb injectors,80% kit

ok some late pics from last saturday

removing the old aba

got the new tie rod boots from German Auto Parts and pass. side poly mount insert, new flywheel and pressure plate bolts

ok so problem number one, no matter what driver side tie rod ould not come out of spindle, yet pass. side came out in 2 seconds

problem, solved.. yanked the spindles from my GLI. free 10.1 upgrade Very Happy

problem number 2, stupid bushings were not recessed

rack installed

saturday jeff brought some vrt action

i have a lot of fab work ahead of me.. the down pipe is going to have to be cut and welded to a flange up at the turbo.. at work i made a flange adapter to weld the vband to and it didnt work like i thought.. the turbo is so close to the fire wall if i want to pull it off the whole engine has to come out.. i am thinking i might just buy another turbo (cheapo off ebay) that i has a more common flange set up.

so i welded up all the intercooler piping last night. was put unitl 11:30 doing it.. tonight i am taking a break from the car, havn't seen jackie all week Rolling Eyes

but tomorrow i will back in the garage trying to finish her up..

still left to do:
shift linkage
down pipe
axles
brakes
coolant hoses
steering column
start it Laughing

i put the axles in yesterday. also slammed the winter beater and put some wheels on her.. going to wash it today and wax it thursday for i willl be bringing that to DoD

so i drove it today, around my yard. i still have to bleed my brakes, then take it around the block a couple times possbily tonight if not then tomorrow she hits the round.. hope to be able to drive it to work on thurs or fri..

hmmm 1.8 block with a aba head and then sense the aeb head wont be used you can sell it to me for $5. haha... why the change? cheap passat fall into your lap?
