|
|
| Alright, this fucking thing is starting to drive me nuts and i want to avoid throwing parts at it. Basicly ill be driving along and all the sudden the front left wheel will start squeaking. It sounds the same as a sound youd get from brakes while stoping. If i hit the brake pedal even the slightest bit it goes away and if i brake hard it goes away for a good while, and then will randomly occure again (sometimes not for 10+ miles). I tryed changing out the pads and rotors, and i just changed out the caliper too. I checked for play in the wheel bearing and that seems fine. Any ideas what would make a "rotating" squeaking/squealing sound? Next think im gunna play with is the cv joints, but any opinions would be awsome. |

it def.. sounds like something in the brakes, i know once on my car there is a thin peice of medal in between the pad and caliper which one time it was moved or kind of slid down and was hitting the rotor and seemed like it accured like what you are describing. i not sure mk4's have that clip thingy and you said you changed all that so it kinda gets cancelled out right there, why not try comeing to a gtg? _________________ The Management. |

it kinda sounds like your pads are hanging up on the sliders...
happened to my beetle in the rear after a dirty vermont winter. I took the calipers off, cleaned the sliders and reassembled everything. no noise since |

| Yeah i took it apart and cleaned it and put some never seize on the sliders etc. and it didnt go away right away but it didnt do it at all tonight. So im almost starting to think that i may be the source of the problem when i painted the tt carriers and shit. Just wierd sence it was doing the SAME thing before i touched anything with the stock brakes and oem pads. O well, ill see if it re-appears. |
