[QUOTE=Jeffrey B]FS: 1987 Jetta Coupe , Gambia red with tan tweed interior. Cosmetically this car is a survivor. It is all original paint, trim, interior, etc. . The body is very straight - only a couple of door dings. The paint shines nicely, but is "tired". It shows wear at the edges of panels, and thin spots on the hood and roof. There is almost no rust on the car - only area is surface rust at passenger quarter window lower edge (detailed pictures available). The bumpers are in good shape, windshield is uncracked, and all black trim has veen reconditioned. The interior is immaculate. Original tan tweed in fantastic shape - no rips, tears, burns, or stains. Carpets are great, as well as door panels. The headliner is original and good as well. The dash has a couple of miniscule cracks at the defroster vents (almost invisible). The car is very solid - the floor pans are immaculate, as well as shock towers and rear axle beam mounting points.
Mechanically the car has been transplated with a '96 OBD2 ABA crossflow motor (114K miles), accessories, harness, ECU, etc. The transmission is the original wide ratio 5 speed, using the MK3 clutch setup. The car has been converted to CE2 ('90 spec and later wiring and fuse panel) to make the swap plug and play. It sports the MK3 4 wheel disc brakes as well ( 10.1" front, 8.9" rears on the MK3 rear axle beam and 22mm master cylinder). It is lowered on adjustable Koni struts and shocks shod with Eibach pro-kit springs. The MK3 k-frame was transplaned as well as the MK3 PS rack and pump. MK3 Alternator and air conditioning as well. The exhaust is MK3 manifold, downpipe, and cat, with new 2" exhaust including muffler and tip at rear. The car was also converted to GTI specification instrumentation, as it features a fully functional MFA setup, including oil temp and ambient temperature. The car is fully vag-com scannable with a functional OBD port. It has a Sony detachable face CD player (mp3 capable), and 4 new speakers. Wheels are period correct Enkei 92's cosmetically refreshed (freshly stripped and painted centers, and hand polished lips). The Enkei's are 14x6 et33 , with almost new 185/65/14's
